After the discussion of house demolitions, Bulent Unal spoke
for the Kazova textile workers about their resistance. Then he
spoke about the resistance programme, after which the forum con-
cluded.

Support Visits To The Kazova Workers

At 5 pm on Wednesday 21 August, the Public Workers’ Front
(KEC) visited the resistance tent of the Kazova workers. They de-
scribed how they had protested in front of Caglayan Palace of Jus-
tice against the illegal imprisonment of friends from KESK (public
workers’ union) and called for them to be released during the on-
going court case, the police attacked them but nonetheless they
carried out their action and handed a petition to the prosecutor’s

office. The KEC people received information about the latest state
of the resistance and their visit lasted about an hour.

At 6 pm there was a visit from ITU (Istanbul Technical Uni-
versity) Assistants’ Solidarity. The workers described how they were
going over to production for themselves. The assistants were
pleased by this development and promised support. The visit
ended with the desire expressed for the resistane to be built up

further.

People’s Engineers Support The Kazova Workers

The People’s Engineers were on a five-day march in Ankara
to support the TMMOB (Turkish Union of Engineers and Archi-
tects) against efforts by the AKP to liquidate it, and on Wednesday
21 August they marched for the Kazova workers. They carried a
banner “Today is the 116th day of the resistance of the Kazova
workers. We ae workers, we are right, we will win.” They brought
