Merrimack Valley A Cappella (continued)
In December, we were the featured musical guests at the Tewksbury Town Hall tree lighting ceremony,
which we had performed at two years ago (and once again shared the steps for a time with a very energetic
group of more than 50 Girl Scouts!). Carried Away quartet also performed that night. We also were invited
to Methuen for the first time, part of the Methuen Arts Council’s new “Light The Falls” event that
highlights the waterway in a historic mill district. We were fortunate to have our talented quartets, Carried
Away and Rhythm Method, join us at these performances. And we also congratulate newly registered
quartet Illumination, with members from regions 1 and 15.
Next on the schedule: singing the national anthem at the Merrimack College men’s hockey game on Jan. 8.
Methuen Light the Falls
Always up for trying something new, we organized our first calendar raffle fundraiser and sold out the
tickets. Winners will be picked at random each day of the month in January. Big thanks to Chris Blaisdell
and Janet Mulligan for leading this effort! We wrapped up the year with a holiday party, which included
recording a video with an MVA version of the Grace Kelly Challenge (lyrics and leadership courtesy of
Beck King).

Looking ahead to 2022, we’re in the midst of planning for what we will do for the regional contest. Ideas
are percolating and people are excited. Watch out, here comes MVA!
