“I scheduled him for Nine-thirty on your calendar,” hands him one of the
notes. “Would you rather I change it?”
“No, that will be quite alright.”
“Okay. Jessica also called.” “She asked if she could sit in your meeting with
Jordan ...” stares at the note. “... I said, no. Jessica should know better.” She closes the
door, steps in, “I scheduled an appointment for Jessica same time, but on a later day.”
She continues, “my suggestion, meet with Jordan as scheduled.” “Pick his brain. Ask
for his opinion and do the same with Jessica when she visits tomorrow.”
“Fabulous. Thank you, Ash.”
“You’re welcome, Mr. Thomas,” hands him Jessica's message. “Would you like
I send an email to both, say by the close of business tomorrow for a joint meeting
next week?”
“That works.”
“And, it wouldn't hurt to copy Amanda.”
“Sure. Thank you, Ash.”
“My pleasure, Mr. Thomas.”
Saved by the bell, at least for now. He still needs to figure out how to approach
Mrs. McDaniel and resolve whatever conflicts exist between the matriarch and her
estranged daughter in-law.
