John Turner & Simon Willies suffered another defeat
which ended their chances as Thorpe Marriott’s
Richard Perkins and Tony Turner won by 5-4, their first
win of the night.
On the other mat the defending champions
from Hevingham clinched the runner-up spot despite
being held to a 4-4 draw by Horsford who scored a
single on the last end. David Lamb & Jason Woods
were in terrific form all night scoring a total of 35 shots
against just 6, they and the runners-up Teresa & Sel-
wyn Goldsmith were presented with their trophies by
ESMBA Treasurer Simon Willies who thanked Hors-
Bure Pairs Finalists Defending ford Bowls Club for hosting the event. New Bure Sin-

Hevingham triple retain Bure Triples title
Thorpe Marriott hosted the Bure Triples Champi-
onships where Joan Costello, Teresa Goldsmith
& Selwyn Goldsmith went through the evening
unbeaten to retain the title for Hevingham with
Halvergate’s Ray Lamb, Ryan Fox & Robbie
Lamb finishing as runners-up.
Session one saw the Halvergate triple fac-
ing East Tuddenham’s Jean Woods, Melvin
Woods & Trevor Brown with former two time Eng-
land Singles champion Brown aiming to win this
title for the first time. The Tuddenham triple made
a great start leading 4-0 after two ends but a stun-
ning count of five on the third end by Lamb’s triple
gave them the lead and they never looked back
winning by 11-4. Bure Triples Champions
On the other mat Thorpe Marriott’s Teresa & Selwyn Goldsmith
and Joan Costell
Richard Perkins, Kath Frost & Derek Sheldrake
opened with a 9-2 win against the Horsford BC triple consisting of Ruth Ruddock, Richard McPhee
& Keith Ruddock. The Hevingham triple played their first game in session two and after a good start,
which saw them leading 5-1 against Horsford, the game ended at 6-6 after a good comeback by
Ruddock’s triple.
Meanwhile Trevor Brown’s East Tuddenham
triple recorded their first win of the night beating
Thorpe Marriott’s triple by 10-5 after scoring nine
shots over the last three ends. Hevingham faced
Halvergate in the third session and built up a lead
of 7-2 with one end remaining.
A superb final bowl by Halvergate’s Ryan Fox
almost saved the day for his triple but a count of
four left them one short of what they needed. On
the other mat Trevor Brown’s East Tuddenham
triple lost for the second time with Keith Rud-
dock’s Horsford triple beating them by 6-2.
After the break Goldsmith’s Hevingham triple
Bure Triples Finalists remained unbeaten after a 6-5 win against
Halvergate's Robbie Lamb, Brown’s East Tuddenham triple while Halvergate
Ryan Fox & Ray Lamb slipped to a 6-4 defeat against Thorpe Marriott.
