hour work period. Your supervisor will advise you of the time of your rest periods. You
should not—and need not—perform any work during your rest period. Though you may
leave the premises during your rest period, you are expected to return to work promptly
at the end of any rest period. If your work schedule prevents you from taking your full
rest period within the time periods set forth above, you must immediately notify your
supervisor. Otherwise, you are responsible for taking your rest period at the appropriate
time and for the appropriate length of time.
If you are a non-exempt employee who works six or more hours in any workday, you
are entitled to take a minimum of a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period. Meal periods
should begin no less than the second hour and no later than the end of the fifth hour of
work. You must clock out and clock back in at the beginning and end of each meal
period. You should not—and need not—perform any work during your meal
period. You may not take on-duty meal periods without prior authorization from your
manager or supervisor. You may leave the premises during your meal period. It is
important that you return to work promptly at the end of your meal period. If you think
your work schedule prevents you from taking your full meal period within the time period
set forth above, you must immediately notify your supervisor.
Employees who work six (6) hours or less in a workday may waive their meal period
with the written consent of their manager or supervisor. Employees who work in excess
of eight (8) hours in a workday may be entitled to additional meal and rest periods as
required by applicable state and federal law.
OVERTIME
The nature of our business sometimes requires that our employees work overtime.
Your manager will notify you when you are required to work overtime. We expect and
will appreciate your cooperation. We will try to provide you with advance notice of any
overtime that will be required of you.
If you are a non-exempt employee, you will be paid in accordance with state and federal
overtime requirements. For all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours in one day or
forty (40) hours in one week, or for the first eight (8) hours on the seventh workday in a
workweek, you will be paid overtime at the rate of one and one-half times your regular
rate of pay. You will be paid double-time (i.e., overtime at the rate of twice your regular
rate of pay) for hours worked in excess of twelve (12) in any workday or in excess of
eight (8) hours on the seventh consecutive day of work in a workweek. There may be
exceptions to these standards where allowed by law.
Please remember that you are not allowed to work overtime unless your manager has
authorized it in advance. He or she will approve your overtime hours on your time
record. If you work overtime without permission, you will be paid for the overtime work,
