INTRO TO CODING
        Level III- Advanced                                                                       Credits: 2.5

           Intro to Coding is a course aimed at exposing students to the world of coding. Coding, the language of the
        future, is used in every piece of technology. Intro to Coding is intended for students with no previous
        background, and teaches how to code in a fun and accessible way. Through a series of learning “modulus”,
        including example code, video tutorials, quizzes, programming challenges, and applied programming exercises,
        this course teaches the foundations of computer science. The course, which is taught in JavaScript, equips
        students with the programming fundamentals to learn any programming language. The course focuses on the
        problem solving and critical thinking skills required to properly code, skills that will benefit students in all of
        their future endeavors. Students will demonstrate their understanding by turning in assignments requiring them
        to create their own code to perform a required task.


        INTRO TO HOME IMPROVEMENT
        Level: II- College Preparatory                                                       Credits: 2.5
           This course is designed for the future homeowner or apartment tenant, who wants to learn about keeping a
        home in top shape. The following topics will be covered: space planning, basic building techniques, windows
        and doors, additions and decks, wallboard repair and finishing, decorating, heating, cooling, plumbing and
        electrical systems, etc. The safe use of hand and power tools will be another important part of the class. Most
        of the activities in this class will be actual hands-on practice. This course is designed for the future male and
        female "do-it- yourselfer."


        INTRO TO WOODWORKING
        Level: II – College Preparatory                                                        Credits: 2.5
             The woodworking course's main emphasis is on learning the basic woodworking processes using hand tools
        and power machines in a safe manner. The course content will deal with proper techniques in wood construction,
        with concentrations on creativity, good workmanship, neatness, and accuracy. Most of the materials needed for
        projects will be supplied by the school.


        WOODWORKING II
        Level: II- College Preparatory                                                         Credits: 05
             This  course  covers  woodworking  design  and  planning.  Hand  and  machine  tools,  joiner  techniques,  and
        finishing are taught. The course will emphasize use of woodworking machines and safe work practices in the
        shop. The student will design, plan and construct items of wood and furniture.
        Pre-requisite: Intro to Woodworking


        WOODWORKING III
        Level: II – College Preparatory                                                         Credits: 05
             This course will enable students to further their knowledge, concepts, and skills in woodworking. It will
        provide  an  opportunity  to  design,  plan  and/or  construct  cabinetry  or  furniture  items.  Emphasis  will  be  on
        individual projects and problem solving. Safety practices in the laboratory are expected of  the  student. Students
        may be responsible for purchasing materials used in construction of projects.
