GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGN I
Level: II – College Preparatory Credits: 05
This course is designed for students that would like to learn the basics of web design. Students will learn the
basics in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. Students will also learn the fundamentals of digital
photography, photo editing and how those skills apply to web design. For those students that like a hands on type
of class, this is the class for you!
GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGN II
Level: II – College Preparatory Credits: 05
This course is designed to acquaint students with advanced methods of web design. Students will also be
introduced to video technology, advanced digital photography skills, creative photography and how to integrate
those skills into web design. Students' work from this class will be used on the school's website.
VIDEO PRODUCTION AND BROADCASTING
Level: II – College Preparatory Credits: 05
This course will introduce students to the world of electronic communications. Students will acquire
knowledge in both the technical and creative skills and techniques used in TV productions. Students will
demonstrate hands-on learning with studio video cameras and camcorders, lighting, special effects devices and
audio recorders/mixers. A wide range of experiences will be provided in speaking, scriptwriting, editing, and
computer graphics and on camera presence and delivery. Students will develop design skills for planning and
producing a variety of materials for school, cable and related uses. They will acquire knowledge and skills in
Digital Technology in Media and the many uses as it relates to the changing world of Media.
VIDEO PRODUCTION 2
Level III:- Advanced Credits : 05
This course provides students with the opportunity to expand their basic knowledge of digital video production.
Students will use advanced techniques in different Adobe video production programs such as Premiere Pro and
After Effects. The class will also produce and create a Talk Show for the district of Pine Hill. Students will learn
through hands-on experience different positions and opportunities with in television production. Pre-Requisites:
Video Production I/Teacher Recommendation
THEATRE
THEATRE I
Level: II – College Preparatory Credits: 05
This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of theatre in a fun and interactive way.
Students will start the year by learning how to perform on stage in a variety of improvisational exercises and
activities. This will create a supportive environment for learning and producing theatre for the rest of the year.
The skills focused on during this class will include but not be limited to: improvisation, articulation and projection,
hand to hand stage combat, classical/contemporary scene study, introduction to playwriting, and participation in
the annual theatre showcase. Students can expect a high energy class that will give them the skills they need to
pursue a career in theatre by increasing their confidence and providing them with numerous performance
opportunities.
