ART II
Level: II College Preparatory Credits: 05
Art II is the second level of Art I. All media and techniques explored in first level art classes will be reviewed
and explored once again on a more in-depth level to further develop art concepts, skills and individual styles.
Students will be given the opportunity to evaluate various artists, techniques and styles through art history.
Students must maintain a sketchbook demonstrating concepts, techniques, and include notes reflecting art history
and homework. Art II is a prerequisite for Art III. This course may be taken as an Honors course.
Pre-requisite: Intro to Art with a minimum grade of 85 or Teacher Recommendation
ART III
Level: III - Advanced Credits: 05
Art III is designed to give the serious art student an opportunity to apply skills in drawing, painting,
printmaking, sculpture, crafts and art history. Methods and advanced techniques in color theory, pastels,
watercolors; acrylics, printing and sculpture will be presented. An emphasis will be placed on individual
projects at this level and the preparation of a portfolio. Students will be given the opportunity to evaluate
various artists, techniques and styles through art history. Students must maintain a sketchbook demonstrating
concepts, techniques, and include notes reflecting art history and homework. This course may be taken at the
Level IV if the general Honors prerequisite and Art Honors criteria are met. (Honors Art prerequisite required)
Pre-requisite: Art II with a minimum grade of 85 or Teacher recommendation.
ART 4/ PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT
Level: IV - Honors Credits: 05
Art IV Honors is designed for the artistically talented, career directed student who has completed the basic
art courses. Emphasis is placed on individual in-depth study on an advanced level, with direction and
appropriate training necessary for realizing job criteria and the continued preparation of a portfolio. Practical
application of all previous skills and previously taught techniques will be utilized towards art service for various
clubs, school functions, etc. By mid-year, the Art 4/Portfolio Prep student will be expected to present a
portfolio and a Senior Art Exhibit will occur at the end of the year.
Pre-requisite: 90 in Art III or 85 in Honors Art III /Teacher Recommendation
INTRO TO DIGITAL MEDIA
Introduction Into Digital Photography
Level: II –College Preparatory Credits: 1.25
Students will learn the basic workings of digital photography which includes how digital cameras work and
how to shoot in manual mode. Students will also learn the basic functions of Photoshop Elements and how the
two interact with each other. Students will engage in several projects utilizing portraits, special effect and macro
photography.
Introduction Into Digital Graphics Credits 1.25
Level II: College Preparatory
Students will learn the basic understanding of digital graphics. Students will learn how to creatively use
Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects and programs within the Creative Cloud. Students will engage in projects
using video and audio to create digital storyboards, cartoons, and paintings through Adobe programs. Students
will produce several projects with creativity though digital media.
