Truman’s decisive actions were a factor that enabled
large numbers of Jews, whose ancestors had been
scattered into all parts of the world, to return to Israel,
their ancient homeland.

Immediately upon Israel’s declaration of its Statehood, a
Confederacy of Arab nations, eerily similar to what is
described in Psalms 83 (see Chapter 3, pages 78-79),
waged all-out war against Israel. But they didn’t know

the power they faced! While it seemed that Israel stood
helpless to defend itself, Israel quickly stood victorious -
against all odds! They had a powerful ally; “If GOD is for
us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31). When the
battles settled, it was clear who was at Israel’s side. It
was unambiguously, the GOD of Israel (Is. 27).

President Truman stood firmly with Israel during this
pivotal time. In doing so, Israel still regards him as a
modern King Cyrus whom GOD raised to deliver them
from Babylon.

Was King Cyrus a paradigm for President Truman? A
highly esteemed Bible scholar and teacher, Jonathon
Cahn, explained in his book “Paradigm” [26] how
President Truman followed the paradigm of King Cyrus,
the great Med-Persian leader who conquered Babylon.
Isaiah prophesied that a King named Cyrus would free

Jews from Babylonian captivity. Isaiah’s prophecy was
given more than 200 years before Cyrus was born. GOD
raised Cyrus and placed him in the precise location at
precisely the time in history to fulfill HIS plan for
restoring Israel from its 70 years of Babylonian captivity
