machine tools would be governed by a list which they may make
up and which we may discuss with them.

                        M r. B rion : I think if this resolution goes through, as I
have corrected it, the list would come from the manufacturers,
and I think it should come from them.
                        P resident S t ro n g: I suggest that this resolution be
referred back to the Committee for further action.
                        A M e m ber : I make that motion, that the resolution be
referred back to the Committee for further action on their part.
                        Motion was seconded.

M r . C olcord: If I wanted to go to Mr. Wright for a
machine, must he sell to me the same as if he sold to the consumer
                        M r. B r t o n : That resolution has passed.
                        M r. F a r o u h a r : 1 should think that point ought to be
considered very carefully. We are obliged in our line of business
to buy from and sell to the dealers every day, and if it is good
with the supply man. it should be good with the other. If we
pledge ourselves not to sell to a dealer and allow him anything
it will get us into trouble. Although we are maintaining our
prices with the manufacturer, we are agreeing to maintain them
with the consumer, but we. as dealers, should have the privilege
of selling to a legitimate dealer, or to buy from him.
M r. B rown : You are correct about it. It was suggested at
the meeting in Cincinnati, if this was adopted, that the two and a
half per cent would be allowed to other dealers because in a line
well established ( what we call easy sale) the dealer making the
sale is pntitled to the profit that represents. Mr. Geier suggested
that that two and a half per cent should be used for that purpose.
                         M r . F a r o u iia r: If we have a machine on our floor, or
some one has gotten it on our floor, and we want to buy it, it is
not an exclusive machine controlled by anybody, but we want to
sell to another party, it seems if we can’t sell to another dealer it
                   isn’t right.
M r. P atterson*: All talk we had was with reference to fixing
the price to the consumer. We did not intend to insert anything
which would interfere with exchange dealers.
