The Zone Diet


          What is it?


          The Zone Diet allows for a certain amount of protein, carb, fat in
          each meal. For overall caloric intake, followers stick to the ratio
          macronutrient ratio of:

                      30% Fat                            40% Carbs




                   30% Protein

                            40% carb, 30% fat, 30% protein

          There are no specific phases to cycle through because designed to be
          sustainable long term.

          Meal and snack timing are critical - in order to stay in “the zone” you
          must eat regularly. The protocol calls for ~4-5 hours in between meals
          with snacks timely planned in between.


          Why is it used?

          The designers claim that following the diet will optimize certain
          hormones for your body to enter a state called “The Zone”.

          They also make claims that it will reduce inflammation in the body.
          Once inflammation is reduced, you will lose fat at the fastest rate
          possible, slow down aging, reduce your risk of chronic disease and
          improve your performance.


          It is flexible and may help you lose weight by helping you restrict your
          calorie intake and allowing a large variety of favorable foods.
