                         Lady Brenda Sylvester, is a Harris County Deputy to register voters. She

                                 reviewed completed voter registration form with church member. She is a member
                                 of the Lake Houston Chapter. The Lake Houston Chapter registered more than 100
                                 during the “When We All Vote” Registration Drives at The Luke Church, Texas
                                 Southern University and in Livingston. The Lake Houston Chapter of Kingwood,
                                 Texas embraced Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s new voting initiative, ‘When
                                 We All Vote’ and kicked off a week of voter registrations by leading conversations,
                                 talking to friends, family, and neighbors about the importance of their voice and their
                                 vote. The journey began on Sunday, September 23, 2018, as chapter members gath-
                                 ered after the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services to register voters at The Luke Church in
Humble, Texas. Members of the church community were registered, reminder cards were distributed, along with
pledge cards to vote. From September 22, 2018 to September 29, 2018, Lake Houston registered voters in Liv-
ingston and on the campus of Texas Southern University in the Mickey Leland and Barbara Jordan’s Public Af-
fairs Building. Lake Houston spoke with registered voters and they were fired up and ready to vote in the mid-
term elections and beyond.

Lady Diane Williams charter member and chapter treasurer of the El Paso Chapter was the guest speak-

er at the “Women Veterans Day” program held at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veter-
ans Home Annual Women Veterans Day Program. On June 12, 1948, President Harry S.
Truman signed into law the Woman’s Armed Services Integration Act, allowing women to
serve as permanent, regular members of the military. On June 9, 2017, Texas Senate Bill 805
was amended to commemorate the sacrifices of and the valor displayed by Texas Women
Veterans by designating June 12 as Women Veterans Day. Lady Diane Williams is a retired
United States Army Command Sergeant Major (CSM). She is an Adjunct Professor at the
United States Army Sergeants Major Academy in the Department of Command Leadership
in the Sergeants Major Course (SMC). She also brought along some of her female students,
who completed Class 68 of the Sergeants Major Course. They spoke about the impact of
integrating women into the military. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after their powerful
tributes and testimonies. The El Paso Chapter was also there serving lunch to the veterans
and senior citizens.

                     Lady Mary Louise Williams was inducted into Arkansas Black Hall of Fame

                            at their 26th annual induction ceremony. Lady Mary Louise Williams devoted 42 years
                            of her life to Arkansas education, and she served 30 of those years in Little Rock.
                            She attended Philander Smith College her freshman year and continued her
                            studies at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri where she obtained a BA
                            degree in Fine Arts. She obtained a MA degree in Fine Arts and Secondary Education, as
                            well as a Certification in Administration, focused on High School Students. In
                            2018, Mary Louise Williams received a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Philander
                            Smith College. Dr. Williams continues her educational endeavors to this day. She is
                            an Organizer of the Little Rock Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.
