       Na onal Sports Awards 2023: Satwik-Chirag to get


       Khel  Ratna;  cricketer  Shami,  archers  Sheetal  and


       Adi  among Arjuna recipients


       The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has officially
       announced the recipients of the national awards
       for 2023, with the dynamic doubles pair of Satwik-
       Chirag set to receive the prestigious Major Dhyan
       Chand Khel Ratna Award.
       India's  accomplished  badminton  duo,  Chirag
       Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, have been
       confirmed as the deserving awardees of the Major
       Dhyan  Chand  Khel  Ratna  Award  for  their
       outstanding achievements in 2023.

       Among the distinguished sports personalities, 26
       individuals,  including  India's  fast  bowler
       Mohammed Shami and archery sensation Aditi Gopichand Swami, have been selected to receive the
       Arjuna Award.

       In a press release issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, it was revealed that the awards ceremony
       will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 9, 2024, where the esteemed athletes will be honored by
       the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
       Chirag and Satwik had a remarkable 2023, clinching the gold medal at the Asian Games (a historic first in
       badminton for India at the event), securing the Asian Championships title, and triumphing at the prestigious
       Indonesia Open Super 1000. Their achievements also include winning bronze at the World Championships
       and clinching gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
