Design a simple dashboard meter to calculate the
actual cost of motoring. Information such as the initial
cost of the car, road tax, insurance, and servicing would
be entered before use, along with the car’s fuel
economy and petrol costs (which need to be regularly
updated). The meter would measure distances travelled
46and compute an accurate cost of any journey, thereby
giving the driver a real comparison to alternatives
offered by public transport and the backup to charge
passengers petrol money with authority.
