Develop an intruder alarm for cars, homes and business
premises that, in addition to triggering a ringing alarm,
also calls or sends a message to the owner’s mobile
phone with specific details on which element of the
circuit has been broken. The owner could then return to
the property or call neighbours to check if there is an

53actual break in rather than a false alarm. The same
service could also be applied for home smoke or gas
     alarms.

Introduce a third brake light to vehicles as standard. This
light would be positioned in the rear window or boot lid of
cars, as is quite common in recent designs, but would be
made up of a sequence of bulbs. The degree of braking
would be indicated by the number of illuminated lights.
This will allow the driver behind the vehicle a better

54understanding of the first driver’s intentions, aiding the
flow of heavy traffic and preventing accidents caused by
     unnecessarily heavy braking.
