         Take Attendance immediately. If permitted, eat snack and check kids home-
         work; award a sticker  Sit in a circle on the ground or in chairs together.
             1.   Sing “¿Cuántos años tienes tú ?” use the microphones. Have two micro-
                phones and ask which they want, ¿Quieres azul o rosa?
             2.   Students respond by saying “Yo tengo…4 años.
             3.   Ask  ¿Tienes 1 año? ¿Dos años? Review counting        VOCABULARY
                during this time as well. Show numbers with your
                fingers.
             4.   Draw a cake on your white board and draw can-
                dles depending on the age that the student has.

                Ask the students to count with you when you
                draw the candles.
             5.   Have the kids blow out the candles and erase them as they blow them
                                              out.

                  Review body parts song—have kids stand up!

                Orejas, ojos, nariz, boca, nariz, boca, nariz, boca
                Orejas, ojos, nariz, boca .  . . Mucho pelo
                brazos, piernas , estomago
         1.  Say toca la nariz, toca la boca,  toca el ojo, toca dos ojos
                                                                        VOCABULARY
         2.  Ask , tienes una boca o dos bocas? Tienes un ojo? Etcetera.

         3.  You can try playing “Simon Dice” depending on your group,
             For example, “Simon dice . . . Toca la nariz”

                       TEACH: toca el color


         1.   Teach Colores! rojo, azul, verde, amarillo
         2.   Start with rojo and show the kids a the color rojo
         3.   Say “toca rojo” and see if they can find rojo near
             them, on their clothes, on the floor, etc.  As they find   TIPS
             the color have them call out “ro-jo” and say it as a
             rhythm

         4.   Then add in azul and show the picture card of azul.

         5.   Say “toca azul” and have then find azul. Then go back to rojo. “toca ro-  •
             jo”   Repeat with verde and amarillo

         6.   Now use the whole room and have the kids find the colors one at a time
            Toca rojo  . .  Toca verde   . . .   Toca amarillo . . .  .Toca azul (DECIDE
             HOW MANY COLORS TO INCLUDE BASED ON YOUR CLASS)
