On top of that self-talk that I expressed I then filtered my world with rose tinted glasses

and fairy tale endings. Even though all the telltale signs of failure and disaster, doom

and gloom, were hanging over the relationship from the very beginning all I felt was

blind faith. I had complete blind faith that nothing bad ever happens and everything is

always going to turn out all right.

I figured that the universe had my back. And that if I just bumbled along on this path

in a carefree way that I'd somehow just naturally flow with the stream to wherever it

was that I needed to go depending on wherever the stream took me.

Fast forward 7 years and by that stage I was 29. It dawned on me all of a sudden while

nearing my 30th birthday that if I didn't take positive action towards creating the

change, I wanted to see in my life then nothing was going to change.

By that stage I was in a living hell. I was living in hell literally every single day. I was

living in the space of suffering because that was what felt comfortable to me. Living in

this constant state of anxiety and suffering where I didn't own my life and I didn't take

responsibility for my choices. I just let life happen to me instead of creating the life

that I really truly wanted to lead.

So, this is the first clue in how we start understanding who we are, why we are here,

what our lives are all about, and how to start getting direction in where we want to go

               in our lives.

When you are suffering that suffering is pointing you towards your purpose, towards

               your meaning.
