2019 Annual Report
The Peace Tree
Thanks to the ongoing enthusiastic direction of Joan Kitchen, the Ministry once again supported
The Peace Tree project for Christmas which provided generous support of Christmas gifts to
several Presbyterian Church programs including Fernie House, Evangel Hall and Armagh. This
year we received, boxed and delivered an outstanding amount of 182 gifts. Special thanks to
the team that delivered these gifts.
Indigenous Canadians
In order to expand our Mission outreach program, and in keeping with recent high profile
media coverage of the ongoing difficulties of many of our Indigenous Canadians, and in
order to better educate our congregation, we provided $1,000 to support Maggie
Albrecht-Bisset for a one week Indigenous Reconciliation program tour. Maggie has
reported to the congregation on her experience and we anticipate providing support to a
Winnipeg Mission Centre in 2020.
A Classroom for Every Child
This year as a special Christmas project, the Ministry decided to support the outstanding work
carried on at the Francisco Croll Primary School in Guatemala City, Guatemala, an education
program that has been supported by the Presbyterian Church for many years. Our goal of
st
$13,000 was exceeded, and as at December 31 , 2019, we have raised in excess of $15,000.
Reachin’ Out Concert
One of the highlights of our year was the Reachin’ Out Fundraising Concert held on
th
Saturday October 19 , 2019 in support of the Mission Ministry. Along with the choir and
Trinity House Band, we had several guest musicians and soloists, including the St.
Jamestown Children’s Choir. It was a wonderful event and enjoyed by everyone in
attendance!
The generosity of Trinity Presbyterian Church was once again demonstrated throughout 2019, and we trust that
it will continue throughout 2020.
Respectfully submitted, John M. Clarke, Convener
