WORSHIP MINISTRY
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving: and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalm 100

Committee Update 2019
We began the new year by welcoming our new Director of Music, Mr. Michael Gomiega. Throughout the year,
Michael proved to be the perfect choice for this position. Along with Melvin Suwarno, the Trinity House Band
and our dedicated choir, Michael enhanced our services with new music along with traditional favourites. It
wasn’t long before we considered Michael a very special member of our Trinity Family.
We are also very fortunate to have had Don Seal join our ministry this year. Among his many talents, Don is a
wonderful greeter but even more impressive, Don gets others to volunteer as well. He and Hiba make a
wonderful team and his addition to the Worship Ministry is very much appreciated.
In addition to overseeing all of our regular services of worship at Trinity, the Worship Ministry is involved with
the planning and execution of several special services throughout the year including Maundy Thursday, Good
Friday, our annual Memorial Service and Christmas Eve.
As always, one of our favourite services of the year is our annual Children’s Christmas Pageant, held this year
th
on December 8 . It is always a joy to see the younger children re-enact the Christmas Story as the older ones
read the scripture text and we all sing beloved Christmas carols. One of the highlights of this year’s pageant was
the five little angels singing O Holy Night. We extend our great appreciation to Mark Boucher, his wife Karen
and daughter Beth, and to all who help them, for the tremendous amount of time and energy given to make
this special presentation possible.
After a great deal of thought and discussion, we decided to have one Candlelight Christmas Eve Service this year
instead of two. Lead by the band and choir, we began with a carol sing-along at 7 pm followed by the service at
