            Non – Communicable diseases
              Various kinds of non-communicable diseases affect health of human beings.
              Some of the common non-communicable diseases are follows:
              Diabetes is a long-term condition of too much sugar in the blood.

              Symptoms - Feeling very thirsty.
              Urinating frequently, particularly at night.
              Feeling tired and weight loss.
            Cancer
              Uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body.
              Cause emergence of tumours in body called neoplastic disease.
              It may be induced by physical, chemical and biological factors.
              Tobacco smoke contains chemical carcinogens and causes lung cancer.
            Mental Disorder
              It is a psychological pattern or anomaly potentially reflected in behaviour.
              Associated with distress or disability.

            Livestock and Management
              Human population is directly linked to the natural resources of a country.
              Types of natural resources –plants, animals, water, land and mineral resources.
              Animal husbandry and Dairy breeding, mainly used in rural areas.

            Cattle Breeds
            I. Dairy Breeds
              Also known as Milch breeds.
              Cow of this group are high milk yielders with long lactation periods.
              Bullocks are poor in drought resistance.

              Cattle are well built with strong limbs.
              Cows in domestic usage for milk are non-descriptive types.
            Sindhi
              Red Sindhi, Red Karachi.
              The home of this breed is Karachi and Hyderabad.
              Compact body and Medium size.
              Intelligent facial expression.
              Deep dark red colour.
              Bulls are darker than the cow.
              Udder is large with medium sized teats.

              Animals are docile and quiet.
              Sindhi cows – hardy, high degree of resistance to heat and ticks.
            Gir
              Originated from Gir forest of south Kathiawar.
              Breeds are found in Baroda and Maharashtra.
              They have spotted skin.
              Usually red, black and red, red and white or white with red spots.
