stomach. The good bacteria are very beneficial to our health. These
bacteria die when we brush our teeth. If you drink water after
brushing your teeth then also it will be beneficial but not as much.
You can also consume aloe-vera instead of drinking water—aloe
vera has amazing health benefits.
As the old adage goes, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince,
and dinner like a pauper.”
Your breakfast should be very heavy. You must have heard
somewhere that you should eat light breakfast—never do that.
According to Ayurveda, our digestive system works very efficiently in
the morning which is why you should eat heavy breakfast. And if you
have a light breakfast, then you will end up wasting a lot of time. You
will feel hungry while studying. And you will eat a lot during lunch
after which you will feel very sleepy.
You can consume parathas or cheela in the breakfast alongside tea
or coconut water. Usually I have either a cup of tea or a little bit of
coconut water with paratha. I eat parathas of paneer, potatoes,
cauliflower, methi, or mix vegetables. You have to remember that you
should be done with your breakfast by 10 AM, but you do not have to
immediately start studying after that. You can relax a little bit, you
can finish off your household chores, you can also do a little bit of
planning about what to study, or you can also listen to some mantras
or music of your choice. You can also do other chores like folding
your clothes, ironing them, resetting your study table et cetera. The
more organized your room is the more peaceful and calm you are.
Keeping an organized study space or work space boosts
productivity.
Why you should not start studying immediately after meals?
Whenever we have a meal, the blood in our body rushes towards the
stomach to facilitate digestion of the food. Blood provides oxygen to
the relevant systems and transports the digestive products. This
process is called mesenteric blood flow in scientific terms. During
this process our head, arms, and legs do not get enough blood. The
haemoglobin present in our blood is responsible for transportation of
oxygen to our brains, and this is why we feel sleepy after meals
