Chapter 15
                Depression

"Make not your thoughts your prisons." ―William Shakespeare

Depression is a type of mental state in which you find nothing good
about anything, you are not able to concentrate on anything, you
keep worrying endlessly about something, and there is nothing that
brings you any sort of happiness. Stubborn negative thoughts flood

your mind and it becomes impossible for you to fight them away.
Sometimes, you also feel suicidal. This issue has become very
common in today’s world. According to the World Health
Organisation there are about 30 crore people who have depression,
and by the year 2030, this is going to become the second biggest
reason behind man’s inability to do something in life. About eight
lakh people around the world commit suicide every year and

depression is one of the biggest reasons behind this. In India, there
is a huge number of people who are suffering from depression. You
must also remember that India is far behind in the list of the counties
                with high happiness index.

Firstly, it is a very good thing if you get

to know that you are suffering from depression. A lot of people are
unaware of the fact that that they are suffering from depression. The
diagnosis never happens. We tend to take this mental state as a part
of our life and there are a lot of people in the world who think like
this. Let us assume that you are hungry and you are heading
towards home by a local train. At the railway platform you see a lot of
people and you start thinking that all these people who are travelling

back home are hungry as well. If we are suffering from depression
