then we start thinking that the entire world is suffering from this as
well. This becomes our mental state. We never try to get out of it,
and gradually this mental illness starts consuming our awareness
and wreaks havoc in our normal lives. It becomes extremely difficult
for us to get out of it.
Some people don’t even remember that they also had a happy life.
Some people are so depressed that they don’t know what it is to live
happily, they don’t even remember the last time when they laughed
heartily. They do not even laugh when they are watching any
comedy show or when someone cracks a joke. They try to settle in
their life with this thought that life is going to be like this and they

even hating one’s own self. When we do not respect ourselves, it
becomes difficult for us to face the world. We do not even feel like
getting out of the house. And even if we go out somewhere we are
always afraid of the prospect of running into somebody who knows
us or can recognize us. Depression makes us a stranger to the
entire world. We become an outsider in our own house. We keep on
trying to distance ourselves from the world. We spend sleepless
nights. We slide down the black hole of depression and desperately
