BUILDING – Building is vital to children’s
development, what is evident when children are
building is the creativity used to bring different
objects together as they play, creating new usage as
a result of the combination – what is known
theoretically as combinatorial flexibility. Whether
children are building dens with bed sheets and tables,
chairs or wooden poles, or using tools to try and build
something extraordinary, the bringing together of
different objects feeds the creative mind of children.
