2022 U.S. Benefits Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Commuter Benefits – Transit and Parking Elections
Q. What is the process for enrolling in the Commuter Programs?
A. Your eligibility for this program is automatic from Workday to Edenred. Once your information is established
with Edenred, you can access your account via Okta SSO. This generally takes a week following your hire
date. All elections are then made directly on Edenred’s site. Elections are subject to payroll deadlines, so
changes may take up to 2 pay periods to take effect.
Q. Will I be able to order my commuter passes through the Commuter Program?
A. Rubrik offers the ordering platform through Edenred. This allows participants to order Clipper and certain
other fare media directly as long as it is before the 10 of each month. All orders and changes must be
th
completed by 11:59 pm PST on the 10 day of the month prior to the month you would like to receive
th
your benefit.
For example, if you are planning on utilizing the benefit for the month of February, you would need to place
your order by January 10 .
th
Q. What are my reimbursement options?
A. Transit products are purchased with the Edenred debit card. Vanpooling and parking services can be
purchased by using the Edenred debit card or filing a claim for out‑of‑pocket expenses. If these expenses
are paid out of pocket, you can submit for reimbursement through the Edenred Benefits portal.
Q. Does Edenred Benefits offer Direct Pay Parking to my parking garage?
A. Unfortunately not. If you currently have direct pay arrangements with your parking garage, you will need to
make other arrangements for your parking payment. Options include paying with your Edenred pre‑tax debit
card once funds are loaded, or paying out‑of‑pocket and getting reimbursed by Edenred.
Q. Is Uber or Lyft eligible under the Transit benefit?
A. Fares for Lyft Shared are eligible under the Transit benefit. Unfortunately, UberPool and UberX Share are
not eligible.
Lyft Shared rides are currently available in Miami, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco,
San Jose, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, Washington D.C., Boston, Portland, and San Diego. Shared rides
may not be available in all areas of a particular region, and there may be certain times of the day when
Shared rides are not an option.
Q. What is the maximum amount I can have deducted pre‑tax to put towards mass transit and/or
parking expenses?
A. The 2022 IRS Commuter Benefit maximums are $280/month for transit and $280/month for parking. The
combined Parking and Transit benefit is $560/month.
Q: What happens to the transit balance on my Edenred Benefits Card at the end of the
benefit month?
A. The balance will roll over from month‑to‑month as long as you are an active employee and remain eligible
for this benefit. Keep in mind that these funds may only be used to pay for transit related expenses.
They may not be used to pay for expenses covered by another benefit. Upon termination, your Edenred
Benefits Card will be shut off and any unused balance on the cards will be forfeited. Note: Subsidy funds do
not rollover.
