Adding Sensors
Note:
The idea of the EV Sensor Position is to select a slot number that the
sensor best lines up with. The exact method used to determine ‘best
lines up’ is flexible but try to be consistent. Discrepancies could lead
to misleading analysis in EVView (refer to Section 9.1.6).
This information can be changed later if needed.
Enter a name for the sensor. This is optional, as meaningful sensor names will be
automatically generated as the locations and positions are selected; for example, a sensor
installed on the Phase Lead at Slot #42 will be called ‘PL Slot 42’ by default.
Note:
Sensor names can be changed if desired, but it is strongly
recommended to use a unique name that is easily differentiated from
other sensors.
Any sensor that is not fully placed (both a Location and Position are defined) will produce
warning icons.
There are some additional controls on this page to assist with sensor placement:
• The list filter can be used to only show sensors that have not been placed so they
can be quickly located and finished.
• To reset a sensors location, position and name back to default, select the sensor in
the list and press the ‘Clear’ button.
• To reset all sensor locations, positions, and names back to default, press the ‘Clear
All’ button.
• To undo changes made when editing existing sensors, press the ‘Reset All’ button.
This will restore the settings back to the last information saved in the database.
