Adding Sensors
5.2. Adding Flux Sensors
Adding Flux sensors is a one or two-step process:
• Define the flux sensor that is installed on the asset.
• Define the shaft trigger that is installed on the asset (optional).
5.2.1. Define Flux Sensor
To define the Flux Sensor, select the ‘Edit Flux Probe’ tab:
• Check ‘Radial Probe Installed’ to enable the sensor.
• Select the type of probe installed; Total-Flux Probe (TFProbe) or a leakage Flux
Probe.
• Select the physical connection to the probe; either differential (3-wire) or single-
ended (2-wire).
• Select probe installation location; either on the stator tooth or the stator wedge
If there is no shaft trigger is installed, press ‘Save’ and then close the editor; otherwise,
continue the setup as described in Section 5.2.2.

5.2.2. Define Shaft Trigger
To define the optional Shaft Trigger, select the ‘Edit Key Phasor’ tab. This shows a
visual representation of the asset where you can define the relative position of the Shaft
Trigger, the Shaft Trigger Marker and the Flux Probe:
Note:
The Shaft Trigger is crucial to pole identification on assets that have
more than 2 poles; without a Shaft Trigger, pole identification on these
assets may not be consistent over the long term.
