Configuring a Monitor
• Minimum ‘Hot’ temperature
• Maximum ‘Cold’ temperature
Optionally, enter the minimum line voltage and minimum coolant pressure (for gas
cooled assets) for normal operation. Disable these Operating Conditions if not used.
Enter the Recurrence value to use; this sets how frequently periodic Triggers save data.
Note:
Partial discharge activity typically changes slowly over months or
years. While it is possible to use the Recurrence value to collect daily
data (or even more), this will only unnecessarily inflate the database
for no benefit.
The recommended Recurrence setting is 14 days for assets that have
a voltage rating of less than 6 kV and 30 days for assets that have a
voltage rating of more than 6 kV.
Pressing the ‘Load Defaults’ button will calculate all of these values based on the asset
ratings:
• ‘Full Load (min)’ is set to 80% of the rated load.
• ‘Reduced Load (max)’ is set to 50% of the rated load.
• ‘Hot (min)’ is set to 80% of the rated temperature.
• ‘Cold (max)’ is set to 70% of the rated temperature.
• ‘Voltage (min)’ is set to 95% of the rated voltage.
• ‘Pressure (min)’ is set to 85% of the rated coolant pressure.
• Recurrence is set based on the rated voltage as described above.
