RESPONSIBILITY:
Team Members:
1. Team members are responsible for informing their supervisors of any incidents or
risks of violence or unacceptable behaviour they may experience or witness.
This includes issues in the team member’s non‐ work life that may impact the
team member or his or her co‐worker’s safety.
2. Team members are responsible for reporting to their supervisors any incidents of
violence, unacceptable behaviour, or close calls, according to the program set out
in this policy.
3. Team members are responsible for attending any training or information sessions
provided by Jim Peplinski Leasing to reduce violence, harassment, or risks of
violence or harassment.
4. Team members are expected to co‐operate with the police, company
investigators, or other authorities as required during any investigation related to
workplace violence or harassment.
Supervisors:
1. Supervisors are responsible for assessing the risk of violence or unacceptable
behaviour to team members in their jurisdiction,
minimizing those risks where necessary or reasonably possible and
informing any affected team member of such risk or potential risk.
2. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring team members are trained to:
a. Recognize the potential for violence or unacceptable behaviour;
b. Follow the policies and program developed to minimize risk;
c. Respond to incidents appropriately; and d.
Report and document such incidents.
3. Supervisors are responsible for tracking and reporting risks, incidents, or close
calls of violence or unacceptable behaviour to the Joint Health and Safety
Committee or Health and Safety Representative, and Management, according to
the time lines set out in the program. The Violent Incident Report Form is to be
used for this purpose.
4. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring proper medical care is provided for
anyone involved in an incident and for securing the safety of team members,
before investigating the incident or taking reports.
5. Supervisors are responsible for co‐operating with police, JPL investigators, or other
authorities as required during any investigation related to workplace violence or
unacceptable behaviour.
