As you follow the A272 / A286 down the main street, look for a black and white sign on the side of
a cream coloured pub. It indicates Chichester str ahd, Petersfield to the r. Just past that sign turn
r. at the r/bout on to Petersfield Rd, the A272.

On the outskirts of Petersfield you'll come to a T i/section. Turn l. on to London Rd following signs
to "London / Portsmouth / Winchester / Petersfield".

At the roundabout a short distance later turn r. for "London / Portsmouth / Winchester" on to a
roundabout. Take the 2nd exit l. s/p "London / Portsmouth / Winchester".

Instructions to go into Petersfield . . .

10.1 mi 51.0164, -0.9385 Petersfield town centre is str. ahd at that roundabout on the B2070. At
the Y intersection bear l. s/p "Steep / Festival Hall / Town Centre" to remain on the B2070.

You'll follow street names like Ramshill, Tor Way and Dragon St. The High St crosses Dragon St.

To continue on towards Winchester from Petersfield town centre, make your way back down the
High St to Dragon St. Turn l. and follow the one way system north on to College St.

Expert navigator check: Shortly after bearing l. on to College St you'll see the White Hart pub on
your l.

At the traffic island at the top of College St, bear l. on to Station Rd following a sign to "Winchester
(A272) / Alton (A32)". As you travel along Station Rd you will have the Methodist Church spire
directly in front of you.

At the next roundabout take the 1st l. on to Winchester Rd s/p "Winchester 18 / Alton".

At the large roundabout go str ahd following s/p "Winchester A272 / Alton (A32)”. Take the 3rd
exit from the roundabout s/p "Winchester A272 / Alton (A32)".

Then pick up the road notes at "The Road To Winchester" below.

If you did not go to Petersfield town centre . . .

You will have taken the 2nd exit from the roundabout on to the A3 access road.

As you approach the entry to the A3 you'll see a b+w sign on the l. indicating Portsmouth and
Winchester to the l. Get into the left hand lane and follow the sign "Porstmouth A3 / Winchester
(A3232)" on to the A3 motorway.

On the A3 watch for a sign that indicates an exit to Winchester A272. Take that exit. You'll come
to a large roundabout. Take the 5th exit l. s/p "Winchester A272".

The Road To Winchester . . .

One way or the other you are now on the road towards Winchester. Pass through the village of
Stroud and at the i/s with A31 turn l. s/p "Winchester A31" on to Petersfield Rd..

At the roundabout take the 2nd exit l. s/p "Winchester B3404" to continue on Alresford Rd.

Remain on the B3404 which will take you right into the centre of Winchester. You'll cross a bridge
(on Bridge St!!) over the River Itchen and come to a grassed roundabout. Take the 1st l. on to
