“Then, like us they also can pull back as they too are very fond of each other. Is that the

thought Dan?”

“Yes Bet, But It will all depend on strength of their desire to mend things. My bigger fear,

however, is what if we complicate things further as we are not relationship counselors.”

“But we cannot leave it without trying either; this is the friendship dharma. If nothing else,

we can probably become their icebreaker that we had so desperately yearned for. Most likely

they too are hoping and waiting.”

“What if we invite them for a golf game tomorrow? That will give us several hours to talk

to both individually. Over lunch we can do the collective thing.” Betsy looked at Dan

inquisitively.

“Brilliant idea Bet.” Dan lit up. “Let me call Vik and you do the same with Anne. How

about 07:00 tee-off?”

“Sounds good Dan. Let me call Anne right away. You make the booking at the club.” Betsy

and Dan picked up their mobiles almost simultaneously.

Next morning Betsy and Dan left home at 06:30. Anne and Vik had accepted their invitation

without much hesitation. Perhaps they too were looking for a facilitator or maybe they wanted

to avoid being alone together.

They were waiting when Dan parked his car at the club. After pleasantries, they registered

and walked to the changerooms together.
