Just then Betsy’s phone rang. It was Anne.

“Hi Betsy. We cannot thank you and Dan enough for your compassion and friendship.

What looked impossible this morning has happened – Vik and I are together, talking. Still

some ways to go but a beginning nevertheless.”

Betsy could no longer control her excitement, “I am so happy for you both.” She said loudly

so that Dan can hear, “Where are you?” and pressed the speaker button.

“We decided to check into Westin resort for next two days. We both took few days off as

we did not want mundane things like work to interfere with our new start. I will share details

when we meet.”

“I called because we know that you will be concerned…And to thank you both. We pray

that everyone gets friends like you. God bless you.” Intense palpable emotion in her voice.

Betsy’s emotions too got better of her as she groped for words, “mmm….Thanks for letting

us know Anne. Yes, we were concerned about you. I am delighted that you are both working

it out. Best wishes.”

“Let us talk when you are back. How about dinner with us on Friday.”

“Love to Betsy. Thanks again. Please thank Dan on our behalf. Vik and I are blessed to

have you as our friends. Good night.”

“Good Night Anne. Say hello to Vik. Best wishes and take care.”
