Second user
The second and final user feedback was conducted. This user works with a private
company where parking is always a problem. The idea of carpooling is non-existent yet.
Therefore, such user feedback can help in making the interface as seamless as possible
especially for first-time users.
The objectives of this second user were:
• Evaluate the app as a passenger experience
• What main functionality does he seek?
• Any main issues during usage?
• Feedback experience rating
Main interfaces shown to second user were ‘interacting as a passenger’ due to no
experience in carpooling
Feedback Iteration
The second user, from a passenger perspective, showed a positive experience. The
interface seemed very clear to the user. The positioning of certain UI features were
noted and slightly arranged. The user moved through the interfaces in a good timely
manner which showed the free flowing experience that the first user highlighted and
later iterated. The user wanted more information of where the parking space
is to help the driver. Therefore putting a map after the last interface as a working
prototype would give more security and confidence to the user and even the driver. This
specific user highlighted the accessibility like sounds, colour brightness/night mode
especially if it will be used in early morning hours. Overall as a final rating the user
rated the experience with the app as a ‘7 or 8’ which represents a pretty good rating.
For a first-time user, trying a carpooling app helped in creating an encouragement for the
use of sustainable travel experience. Therefore using the approach of minimal design
aspect matches with the first timer user experience proving that ‘clean design’ should be
the visual aid of designing such interface.
