CHAPTER THREE
During the interview data analysis phase, I used Affinity Mapping to
categorize and organize the interviewees' statements. I first transcribed
all the interviews sentence by sentence and marked the key statements
related to campus navigation with a highlighter. After that, I organized
these fragments into notes.
To facilitate the identification of different interviewees' feedback, I
assigned different color labels to each interviewee. The researchers
categorized these notes according to content themes and summarized
five main directions, namely "navigation sign issues", "user navigation
behavior", "campus map issues, lost and confused experience" and "user
expectations and improvements".

I made the analyzed data into a bar chart to make the data more
intuitive and convenient for researchers to analyze.
All respondents said that they had asked others for directions on
campus, but seven of them said that if they had enough time, they
would rather try to find directions themselves rather than ask for help
immediately.
This shows that SETU,Carlow's current navigation system cannot meet
the user's information acquisition needs. Users can only find their
destination by asking others for directions when they have no choice.
