                                              Christmas With Family

                                                       By Kaydin Smith

Christmas is a very important holiday for me and my family. My mom, dad, sister,

brother, and I are very different, but we all like to celebrate the same holiday together as a family.

My mom, Sarah, is very passionate and loves the holiday. My dad, Joe, is also on the same

passionate level as my mother because they have loved the holiday for the fifteen years they have

been married. My sister Chloe, who also goes by Cat, somewhat enjoys the holiday. She says she

mostly likes the holiday for presents. My brother Elijah, who also goes by Eli, loves the holiday

for the food, presents, and the celebration of the Lord. Personally, I love the holiday. I like

everything about it: how the food smells, how it tastes, the presents we get, the celebration of the

Lord, the family we get to visit, etc.

When it comes to the day of Christmas, we usually go and visit family. We get packed up

with all the food and clothes we need to travel by plane. Our family we go to visit lives in the

Marshall Islands, so it takes us around three hours to fly all the way over there from Arkansas.

We board the plane and make our way to the Marshall Islands. The flight is always peaceful, so

the flight isn’t a headache to get there. When we arrive at the airport, our family is there waiting

for us. I, my mom, dad, sister, and brother all run to give hugs with big smiles on our faces. We

are always excited to see family for the first time in a year. We put our bags in their car and go to

their house to celebrate Christmas. When we arrive at their house, we walk into the smells of

home-grilled steak, turkey, mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, and plenty of other great-smelling

               food.
