                                                                      By JaeLee Johnson

Dr. Johnson grew up in Chicago with his two brothers

playing soccer. They invented their own soccer game in the

backyard of their house called 3 Goal. They didn't have a lot

of space but the three of them made it work. The backyard

was not even as big as half of a real soccer field. There's a tall

rock wall that surrounded them as they played. It curved

around to the corners where they put their goals.

As the name of the game suggests they played with three

goals instead of two. The boys each had a trash can laid on

it’s side to represent a goal. They needed the game to be fair. Each of them stayed and would

guard their trash cans while playing all at the same time. As soon as one of them left their spot to

make a goal in the bin, one of the brothers would kick the ball into their goal. This would make

the game frustrating for one another, and they would run and slide and kick each other in the

               ankles with their cleats.

Dr. Johnson and his brothers played all year around no matter the weather, Of course,

They loved the spring and summer time because of the cooled off nights and the yard would be

lit up with the Lights turned on from the back porch overlooking the yard behind the nominal

little townhouse they lived in while teens.
