would run up to her and give her a kiss on the cheek. I always did my homework when I got

home. At 4 pm my mom called me to eat with her and my brother. Every afternoon around 5pm,

all the neighbors around me came out to play soccer, and they always yelled at me to come out

and play. We played there for hours on a basketball court that was near my house. We usually

finished playing at 9 pm and then everyone went home. That’s how it was every day.

Most Mexican kids spend their time going to school in the morning. In the afternoon they go out

to play with friends or just hang out. I loved going out to play soccer with my friends. I really

grew up in a very healthy and joyful environment.
