Zara Williamson
Jerome Lee Scholarship Recipient

Zara Williamson of Stamford, CT is a graduating senior at Westhill High School located in
Stamford, CT. She has earned and 3.9 GPA and is a thoughtful and arts-driven student. Zara is a
4-year member of the Westhill Girls Varsity Tennis Team and received the student-athlete award
for Highest Academic Achievement.

Zara is passionate about volunteering in her community and serves as the Junior Volunteer
Manager and Youth Ambassador for the American Cancer Society’s “Women Leaning the Way to
Wellness”. Zara volunteers as the Social Media Coordinator and Assistant Choreographer for
NorthStar Playmakers, a community theatre program for children.

Zara is a member of the Best Buddies Program (Secretary) and the Co-Founder for the Speak for
Peace Committee. Zara is an award-winning poet, an accomplished actor, dancer and singer. A
teacher shared that Zara is one of the most thoughtful students they’ve encountered in their
career with a huge heart and bright mind. Zara will matriculate at Columbia University and
pursue studies in English and Human Rights.
