The wind started to blow a bit harder and so the tents flapped, disturbing the
campers. “I hope the ropes are tight”, said Bells, “or the tent might blow
down”. This worried Ellie who moved closer to Bells for comfort. Amelia
thought it was all very exciting.
What they did not know was that there were some very inquisitive sheep
grazing nearby. In the dead of night, they wandered over to the tents to see
what was happening. Mollie, one of the older sheep, clearly needed glasses
because she tripped over a tent peg and all of a sudden the girls tent collapsed
on top of them. They woke immediately and screamed for help. The sheep ran
off in terror at the noise.
The boys woke to the sound of the screaming and dashed out of their tent to see
what the trouble was. James carried one of Harry’s spanners just in case he
needed to fend off someone or some beast of the night.
There was no-one to be seen, just a heap of heaving tent cloth making a frightful
noise.
“We are here to help girls”, yelled Harry. “Lie still and we will put the tent
upright again”.
In the dim light, Jackson found the rope that had come free from its peg. “Over
here, Harry and James”, he called.
