“Oh, how sweet!” said Granny. “Are you planning to bring it home with us?”
“She is a she not an it”, said Ellie slightly upset by Granny not realising that it
was a little girl fox cub.
“Well, come on then. Get into the car and let’s see if SHE wants to come as
well”, said Granny having being firmly put in her place by Ellie.
They all climbed in and the fox jumped in also.
“Who is going to look after her?”, asked James.
“I think we should because Mummy is a vet”, said Bells.
They agreed that that was probably the best idea so the little fox went to live
with Bells and Ellie. Fortunately, she got on really well with Bramble and Fern.
The three of them would play in the garden for hours and then come in and eat
together and finally sleep together on a big comfy cushion.
Whenever Harry and James visited Bells and Ellie, the little fox seemed to
remember them and would play tag with them. She would chase them around
the garden, nip their shoes and then run off into the flower bed. This would be
repeated time and time again until everyone was tired.
