“Someone is in a hurry”, said James, “and I think they are coming this way”.
The sound of the galloping horse got louder very quickly and before they knew
it, the horse and rider were up to their clearing. Unfortunately the horse was
dazzled by the reflection of the sun in Harry’s bicycle mirror and made a very
sharp turn. The rider did not follow the horse but instead flew off the side and
then bounced across the ground until coming to a halt some way further down
the path. The horse meanwhile was happy to continue its journey alone so as to
escape the scary reflection.
The girl lay motionless and Harry rushed over to her. “She is quite old, at least
fourteen, I should say”, he announced.
Amelia was more concerned about her wellbeing than her age and also rushed
to the poor unfortunate girl.
“Good job you are here, Amelia. Right up your street, this sort of thing”, said
Harry.
The girl started to move and then moaned with pain.
Bells told James and Jackson to track down the horse and bring it back here but
not before all bicycle mirrors are faced away from the sun. Off they went.
“I might need the first aid kit, Bells”, said Amelia. She then turned her attention
to the rider.
“Can you move your toes?” There was a small movement of the feet.
“Can you move your fingers?” The fingers moved slowly.
“Do you feel pain down your back?”
