The Shulchan Aruch, Rema, and Mishna Berura also dispute the issues mentioned in the Ran as to the amount of bread one
is required to consume in the sukkah on the first night and whether the obligation applies even if it is raining. In addition,
they also expand the extent of the comparison between matzah and sukkah to include other halachot relevant to matzah
        as well.

        Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 639:3
Eating in the sukkah on the first night of Yom Tov is an obligation. Even if one ate a k’zayit, one has fulfilled
one’s obligation. After that, [eating in the sukkah] is optional: If one wants to eat a fixed meal one must eat in
the sukkah; if one wishes, he may eat only fruit and nuts for seven days outside the sukkah, similar to the law of
        eating matzah on Pesach.

Rema: One should not eat [the Yom Tov meal] on the first night until it is definitely nightfall, and one must eat
before midnight, and one should not eat from midday onward [on Erev Yom Tov] in order that he eat in the
sukkah with an appetite, similar to [the laws of] eating matzah.

        Mishna Berura, 639:22
One should eat more than a k’beitza to fulfill one’s obligation according to the opinions that in order to fulfill the
positive mitzvah one needs to eat the amount that one would be obligated to eat in the sukkah all seven days,
i.e., more than a k’beitza. The Acharonim [also] write that one must not delay in consuming a k’zayit more than
the time period of k’dei achilat peras [like matzah].
