0. All His Majesty’s jurisdiction oxorcisablo within the limits of this Ordor
for tho hearing and determination of criminal and civil matters, or for tho
maintenance of order, or for tho control or administration of persons or property,
or in relation thereto, shall bo exorcised, under and according to tho provisions
of this Order, so far ns this Ordor extends and applies.
10. Nothing in this Ordor shall be deemed to relievo any otlicer or person
in tho service ol His Majesty of the duty, as far as thorn is proper opportunity,
of promoting reconciliation and encouraging and facilitating tho settlement
in an nmicnblo way, and without rccourso to litigation, of matters in difference
between persons subject to this Order, or between persons subject to this Order
and persons who are not subject to this Order, within tho limits of this Order.
Paut II.—Application of Law of Biutisii India and of tiik Unitkd Kingdom.
11.—(l) Subject to tho othor provisions of this Order, and to any Treaties
for tho time being in forco rotating to Bahrein, Mis Majesty’s criminal and civil
jurisdiction in Bahrein shall, so far ns circumstances admit, bo exercised on tho
principles of, and in conformity with, the enactments for tho tinio being
applicable as heroin after mentioned of tho Governor-General of India in Council,
and of tho Governor of Bombay in Council, and in accordance with the powers
vested in, and tho course of’ procedure and practico observed by and beforo,
the Courts in tho Presidency of Bombay beyond tho limits of the ordinary
original jurisdiction of tho High Court of Judicature at Bombay according to
their respective jurisdiction and authority, and so far as such enactments, powers,
procedure, and practice are inapplicable, shall be exercised in accordance with
justice, equity, and good conscience.
(2) The enactments mentioned in the Schcdulo to this Order slmll as from
the commencement of this Order apply to all persons subject to this Ordor.
(3) Any othor existing or future onactincnts of tin; Governor-General of
India in Council, or of tho Governor of Bombay in Council, may be applied to
Bahrein by King’s Regulations under Article 70 of this Order.
(4) Any Act of tho Governor-General of India in Council, or of the
Governor of Bombay in Council, whether passed before or after tho
commencement of this Ordor, amonding or substituted for any Act of oithcr
of those Legislatures which applies or may be applied to Bahrein, Miall, subject
to the provisions of this Article, also apply to Bahrein.
(6) The Court may construo any enactments in forco in Bahroin, under tho
provisions of this Article, with such alterations not affecting the substanco,
as n lay bo necessary or proper to adapt tho samo to tho mattor beforo tho Court.
12. Tho enactments described in tho first schedule to tho Foreign Juris
diction Act, 181)0, shall apply to Bahrein, as if it wero a British colony or
