On my last visit to Sheik of Bui ire in lie allowed
concern at loud voicing of Persian claim.to Bahrein in
the press and on the radio. Sheik requested iue to write
him a letter to confirm 11.M.ft's attitude which ho might
use to counteract open talk.
2. I do not think it desirable to give in writing
(?gr.omit.) Sheik the assurance he has asked for and that
verbal assurance from Political Agent .is sufficient, .
I think this desirable us the press clamour is greater
than usual.

objections.
