under supervision of Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. The main function and responsibilities of the

unit can be summarized as explained in the academic advisor guide for university students (Annex

S3-0-3-1). (Annex S3-0-3-2) includes the Academic Advising Guide and Academic Advisor for
Students Guide. It outlines the tasks of the Student Guidance and Counseling Committee,

encompassing academic, career, psychological, and social counseling services (refer to Annex S3-0-

3-3 and Annex S3-0-3-4). In the Faculty of Engineering, academic advising is viewed as a
continuous process of educational partnership dedicated to students' academic success. Faculty

members are devoted to providing an advising system that guides students in discovering and

achieving life goals. This support extends to fostering various and equitable educational

experiences, promoting intellectual and cultural development, motivating active participation, and

ultimately molding students into self-directed learners and competent decision-makers." In the
MENG program, at the beginning of each academic year before student registration, students are

assigned to staff members to enhance performance and facilitate the smooth completion of

registration subjects. This process is detailed in the attached (Annex S3-0-3-5) and (Annex S3-0-3-
6). To enhance the effectiveness of academic advising in the Mechanical Program and improve

student performance, an Excel file has been designed and implemented. This tool serves to

provide a comprehensive overview of each student's academic situation at any given point. By

utilizing this file, academic advisors can better understand the strengths and challenges of

individual students, enabling targeted support and guidance to optimize their academic success
            (Annex S3-0-3-7).

3-0-4 Mechanisms are applied to identify gifted, creative, talented, and underachieving students
in the program, and appropriate programs are available to care for, motivate, and support each

            group of them

Talented, creative and outstanding students are recognized by the guidance and
counseling units in the faculties in cooperation with the academic departments, there is a

mechanism to identify them. The student clubs encourage and nurture talented students

(athletically, culturally, and socially). (Annex S3-0-4-1) indicates the guide of the
mechanism for identifying talented, creative and excellent students). The student advisor is

asked to prepare a list of defaulting students to follow up on their condition and study the

reasons for their failure and suggest a plan for treatment and follow up (Annex S3-0-4-2
