The above shows that nearly 60% of the automobiles in the country come
                                                            from Japan and South Korea; the latter is gaining the market race. Out of
                                                            the first 3 places, South Korea together with Germany, show a market
                                                            growth of over 200%. German cars have a higher value. Cars originated
                                                            in the last 5 countries except Argentina, show considerable growth, but
                                                            still with a small share of the market.

                                                              Per the Ministry of Public Work and Communications (MOPC), the
                                                              government is planning to spend US$ 7.5 billion in the next 5 years
                                                              building roads and investing in infrastructure. Hence imports of
                                                              heavy equipment will increase. On the other hand, the state owned
                                                              Administration of Electricity (ANDE) is planning to spend US$ 7.5
                                                              billion in the next 7 years which will result in more valued imports.

                                                             Agricultural equipment imports have increased annually. The
                                                             numbers for construction and agricultural equipment are
                                                             relatively lower than cars and trucks; however, they are high
                                                             valued items, some are over a million dollars.
