The City of Kelowna was incorporated on May 4, 1905.
In October 1905, the fire protection for the city consisted of a hand pump engine
and 500 feet of hose. Shallow wells were dug at strategic points, throughout
the business section, to supply the necessary water for fire protection.
This map contained the business section of Kelowna.
