A GILT LACQUERED STONE FIGURE OF
GUANYIN
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The Bodhisattva is shown seated on rocks in ‘royal
ease’, rajalilasana, and wearing fowing robes and
beaded necklaces. Her head is adorned with a
crown decorated with a small fgure of Amitabha
Buddha.

WOOD FIGURES OF MANJUSRI AND
SAMANTABHADRA
16TH-17TH CENTURY
One fgure is shown seated on a lotus throne on
top of a Buddhist lion and the other is seated on
top of an elephant. Both are holding an attribute
and are dressed in fowing robes, necklaces and a
crown. Traces of polychrome pigment and gilt are
visible.
