A GILT-COPPER REPOUSSÉ MANDORLA
TIBET, 15TH CENTURY

The upper register of the mandorla is openworked with makaras on either
side with scrolling tails, rising up to support a central top image of Vajravahini
fanked by naginis, the lower registers with elephants, grifins, and dancing
fgures, all within a beaded and faming border.

A BRONZE BELL AND A VAJRA
TIBET, 17TH CENTURY

The bell is cast to the handle with a gilt deity, inset with turquoise, below a
four-pronged vajra, all above the bell decorated with Buddhist emblems within
beaded garlands. The vajra is cast to the central section with lotus friezes
centred by a rounded knob.
The largest, 7 in. (17.8 cm.) high
