A CARVED WOOD FIGURE OF A SEATED BUDDHA
17TH CENTURY
The deity is carved seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, he has a beautiful
face with a serene expression and downcast eyes, the hair is worn in tight curls
in a top knot, robes draped loosely about the body and open at the chest. The
sculpture has traces of blue pigment, gilt and red lacquered decoration.

17TH CENTURY
Each ferce multi-head guardian has multiple arms
and is carved wearing armour visible beneath their
robes that are loosely secured at the chest. The
fgures have traces of red, black, green pigments
and gilt.
